Welcome to my gallery

I specialize in sports art for the NHL and other organizations. I am currently working for various reporters who commission me to draw portraits for upcoming articles. The majority of my work is drawn without layers using a site called TegakiE, but as of lately I've branched out into using a program called SAI for my fauvism portraits (so far I only have one fauvism portrait for display).

Credentials

Authentic resume

This is merely my progression thus far. You'll see it grow as the year(s) progress. I display my credentials to ensure authenticity to my fans, visitors, and professional reporters; mostly up for business reasons so people know it's safe to process their orders.

I'm not responsible for broken links!

My Tegaki-E "Featured" Entries:
Yes, I made the front THREE times; totally honoured. Thanks guys!

AllArtSupport:
[link] Not sure how long this link will last since it's in a journal. This group featured my daily deviation of Michal Neuvirth - thank you so much!

BlackOutDallas:
[link] Commission for Blackoutdallas - They wanted a portrait of Brenden Morrow for an article. Melissa was nice enough to show Brenden the portrait I drew of him; he loved it so much she gave him a copy! Don't worry, I have a signed copy hanging up on my wall.

BoltsByTheBay:
[link] Portrait of Martin St.Louis was featured by this wonderful Tampa Bay Lightning group on Fansided.

CapitalsOutsider:
[link] Alex Semin & Michal Neuvirth [link] Another cool thing was they also featured my portrait of Tim Thomas [link] for winning the Conn Smythe trophy for MVP! Isn't that awesome?!! They also recently featured my portrait of Alex Ovechkin: [link] Braden Holtby portrait feature: [link]

Capitals Overtime, "The Washington Capitals":
[link] Posted by the Washington Capitals Digital Content Producer, James Heuser. Apparently, Ben Sumner shared my portrait of Michal Neuvirth with him, and they liked it enough to put it up on the Capitals Tumblr page. They also recently featured my portrait of Alex Ovechkin, which can be found here: [link]

CSN - Comcast SportsNet
Not really a "feature", BUT a rinkside reporter did check out my art thanks to a close friend of mine. Thank you Brodie Brazil for checking out my gallery and complimenting my portrait of Logan Couture through Twitter. It's an honour!

[link] 2/3/13 dA's marketing team re-blogged my portrait of RG3 on Facebook; totally honoured! Thank you Shyree2! [link] 3/22/13 Interviewed by Thiefoworld; the article was placed in dA's group "Digitalists" - quite an honour to be recognized by the Digital Moderator for 2013!

Editor In Leaf:
[link] Tribute to Samantha Quinn; portrait ordered by her brother Mike Quinn reached some writers of the Toronto Maple Leafs. They featured my portrait with an article. Rest in Peace, Sam...as I mentioned in the drawing, "forever a 'beleafer' in the Toronto Maple Leafs". #OMGrabovski. Please promote this drawing under this particular tag on Twitter. Before she passed, this was her personal tag which has spread around the Leafs community. Thank you.

The Fan Zoo "SPORTS MEMORABILIA"
[link] They wrote an article about me and my sports art. They also interviewed me and featured my portraits of Mario Lemieux, Pekka Rinne, and Brenden Morrow. I am currently seeing if they'd like a portrait of a Canucks player, but it's unknown at this time. THIS FEATURE MIGHT NOT LAST LONG.

Girl Hockey Guide:
[link] There's no telling how long this particular feature will last, but they decided to post my portrait of Mikhail Grabovski as today's top stories for January 31st, 2012. I humbly thank you for this! I'm sure Sam would be proud to see her belated commission floating on various hockey sites! Thanks again you guys.

G9 Sports NHL:
[link] Jordan Caron However, the drawing from G9 Sports was removed because I believe Sarah is no longer working in their division...that and, they recently changed their site name to AerysSports. To view the drawing that's no longer here, and to my TE page: [link] Jordan Caron.

Gunaxin:
Just a small tribute to David Puddy - I was slightly embarassed Ben wanted to post this on the site...one of my first TegakiE entries. He said the drawing influenced him to write an article on Puddy. [link] The also recently did a wonderful article on my portrait of Derek Boogaard and a few other portraits of mine, including Derek Roy and Sidney Crosby: [link] Newest post by Gunaxin; featuring the portrait of Dustin Brown and other recently-drawn hockey portraits: [link]

Hangaroundtheweb:
Contacted me recently about featuring my daily deviation of Michal Neuvirth, which is seen here: [link] However, IDK how long this feature will last, and there's a ton of other "inspired" pictures. Thanks for deciding to choose me, though. Much appreciated.

Montreal Sport Scene:
(Still waiting for them to finish the column...I think they're going to post it...either way, they got the work and that's all that matters) Until then, here's my entry: [link] Mike Cammalleri.

On The Forecheck:
[link] Featured my portrait of Pekka Rinne.

However, this link has been broken; if you wish to see this article, note me, and I will send you a personal copy I have. UPDATE 3/27/12 - Drew Mario Lemieux for their site, but not sure they're actually going to use it as of right now.

J Smith Development:
[link] This was quite shocking – ended up hearing about this through a friend who happened to google my artwork. Well, either way, they placed me and a few others on their blog page. Thank you, kind sir.

The Washington Post
[link] Featured my portrait of Robert Griffin III 2/3/13 - They even went out their way to write an article to go with it! MANY THANKS!

What an ART!:
[link] A high-quality "elite" online art magazine dedicated to THE BEST AND INSPIRATIONAL ART AROUND THE WORLD decided to feature some of my best NHL portraits.

Commission guide & Copyrights

Commissions are currently open!

For those who are interested in my services; note me for a commission or email queink@aol.com for orders. I will then direct you further how to pay for your piece. Refunds are NOT available unless I can NOT work on your drawing. This is now in effect due to several people who have recently pulled back during PayPal transactions. I can literally draw anything you want ordered as long as your orders are not explicit. I refuse to draw anything that's against deviantART policies.

Prices
Prices vary depending on what you wish to order. All orders are negotiable; if the price doesn't fit my demands then I refuse to draw. Keep in mind my work takes hours (in most cases, DAYS) to complete. Remember I have bills to pay, food to buy, and a family to aid; underpayments are non-negotiable, even for friends. Make sure all orders are paid in USD currency.

Booking Fees
If you want a portrait, you must pay a booking fee of $5 USD ("waiting list fee"). I'm tired of people cancelling out before I start their order(s). Refunds are absolutely nonrefundable unless I'm unable to draw your order. Cancelling your order DOES NOT refund your booking fee. Booking fees DO NOT apply to deviantART MURO portraits; this is a TegakiE fee ONLY.

TegakiE portraits
Every TegakiE drawing measures at 480x640 (5x6.67 INCHES). Estimate all TE-drawn images to take around 3-6 weeks of completion. This package deal also includes Livestream events. Prints are not available; frames and matting aren't supported at this time (other words, print it yourself). Here's an example of a TegakiE portrait for those who want to order. To enlarge, click the thumbnail and it'll direct you to the original size. Prices for these are currently not available; if you're interested, email or note me where we can negotiate in private.

deviantART MURO (and SAI)
Every deviantART MURO (and SAI) drawing measures at 480x425 (5x4.43 INCHES). Livestream is unavailable for either option. These are far more affordable for visitors who want a sample of my services. Prints are not available; frames and matting aren't supported at this time (other words, print it yourself). Here's some examples of MURO portraits for those who want to order. To enlarge, click the thumbnails and it'll direct you to the original size. The last piece displayed was drawn in SAI. I am selling portraits like these for $30, but if you want the canvas a bit bigger I'm going to charge more...keep that in mind when you ask for multiple characters.

Small Adobe Flash Animations (Example show in webcam)
Every animation measures around 480x425 pixels and generally include 30 or so frames (making each animation roughly 5 seconds and make great deviantART custom webcam pieces). I don't livestream animation progress. You can also order animated icon (avatars) and buttons which include 10 or so frames (and are cheaper). I'm selling animations like these for about $11. The more you request the more expensive it'll become; $11 is just the base price for something simple.

Sketches
Want something within 15-30 minutes? It can be done! Sketches are NOT uploaded on the internet or broadcast through livestream without permission of the commissioner FIRST. I generally sell sketches for around $5 and $10 depending how much you request to be done.

deviantART icon animations
Generally complete within 20 minutes and 4 frames each. Once done they're sent directly to the commissioner through Sta.sh. Examples shown below. Keep in mind I only have a 50x50 canvas to work with. I'm selling simple icons for $2.

I also sell higher-end icons for $5. Of course, they take longer to complete.

My rights - ASK before using my work!
I spend way to much pride and time in my work for you to take my glory for your benefit. If you wish to use my work, PLEASE write me a note and explain WHY you need it. If I find my work elsewhere without permission, I will enforce legal actions and possible lawsuits. Please do not carry my work to that extreme...I'm not in the mood for bullshit. I beg my loyal followers for your aid: If you see my work Floating on sites that DO NOT give me credit, PLEASE Report the situation and contact me. It’s one thing to feature, But to STEAL my work is strictly prohibited.

I don't take requests!

Guys, stop asking for free portraits...it's not happening...EVER! I'm irritated with folks coming to my page asking me to draw portraits without any form of payment. I'm not going to draw you something that takes 80+ hours to complete for free. I'll say it right now: ANY artist to give up that many hours for nothing is a complete idiot!

Everyone has to pay for my services!

"My little workspace" - HOW TEGAKIE WORKS

Tegakie Que-ink

"Just how does TegakiE work...oh, this seems stupid!"

Exactly a year ago I said just that...and stared at THAT very canvas. Of course, I didn't have an icon or a "saved entry" (Explained later). Seeing it by this perspective, you notice there's little to no working space. But, that's what makes this site UNIQUE. I've actually taken the time to explain how different this site is, so people get a better understanding how the program operates.

Microsoft paint and even Photoshop share more in common than TegakiE. The only MAJOR difference between Photoshop and Paint is the layer system, something MS doesn't offer...and probably never will. However, the two both share the following: Save as, open, copy, paste, cut, crop, resize, rotate, select, paint fill, colour picker, text, several brushes (and effects), and shapes. They also happen to share a wider range of colours to choose from. The things I named above ARE NOT avaliable in TegakiE. This program only has the colours you see with a small OPACITY range and the brushes are ALL round; there's only 7 sizes! Also, EVERY TegakiE canvas is 480x640 pixels. We have exactly one save slot, which is saved on the site...and yes, there's always a risk of the save slot being erased...same for going back and editing a picture once it's posted. As shown above, my save slot is currently in use (and look, it's #9 of the Colorado Avalanche, Matt Duchene). Also shown above, is three buttons titled MAIN, GROUPS, and LCC. These are just the sections you can post your work when it's done. "Main" is used for full entries, but can be used for other work. "Groups" is for folks who like being social and Role-play with their original characters. "LCC" has no rough definition...and normally is used for doodles and quick journals and other misc. work.

The "newest" feature the administrator has added (That I have yet to point out) is the "custom palette", which is the colour swatches next to the brushes. You can change these in "Properties - EDIT", but I haven't meddled with it...and probably won't. It takes the challenge away to use colour codes.

Still not convinced I'm really drawing these? Please feel free to visit my Livestream page here: [link]
